CRISTINA AGULLÓ TECLES was born somewhere in La Mancha (Spain) and, although at a very young age she become a nomad by living in different parts of the Spanish geography, she keeps La Villa de Caudete (Albacete) close to her heart as a familiar reference.
From a very young age, she showed great interest in the painting world, producing works with different techniques in a self-taught way. It would be in the Baccalaureate of Arts, where through her teacher D. Vicente Pascual Carrión, she approached to the great Artists and ultimately, to love ART. After that, she graduated in Fine Arts and completed a Master’s Degree in Teacher Training. Since then she’s been participating in different watercolor courses because, in her opinion, constant training is essential to experience new challenges, nurture creativity and evolve as an artist. In turn, she shares this knowledge acquired through her pedagogical activities, teaching drawing and painting in schools, cultural and adult centers, and in her own studio in Madrid.
Her initiation teacher to Watercolor painting was artist D. Antonio Requena Solera, who imbued her with a delight for this technique. She also drinks from other sources of inspiration such as Aitor Rentería or Joan Coch. However, it is the impression of Antoni Tápies a fundamental one, since Cristina’s work flirts with the Matteric Informalism.
Cristina Agulló Tecles is a member of prestigious artistic associations such as AVAM, AEPE or AEDA. Her work has been exposed nationally and internationally from Madrid, Cordoba or Alicante, to Switzerland, Miami or, more recently, New York.
